Tire cover

The cover on my spare tire on the Honda CR-V is getting ripped up.

I want to crochet a wild multi-colored new one.

H doesn’t think that’s a good idea.  I want to know how a five-year-old manages to develop good taste when he clearly isn’t learning it at home.

His opinion won’t stop me, by the way.  I don’t know when it will happen, but someday I will have a red, blue, and green granny-style tire cover.  Mabye some yellow or pink too.  So help me.

About sayingthings

K lives in the US with her man and kiddos, knits, cans, dehydrates, bakes bread, (but doesn't cook regular food, particularly), crochets, spins, gardens, studies for a degree that never seems to end, and um, works. Sometimes she wastes time online. Also -- and family, she's looking at you here -- sometimes she swears and says things you might not agree with. But she still loves you.

  1. Out of the mouth of babes. Use something strong, like rope. Hooking the first row will have you cured of this obsession.

What about using plastic bags to crochet the tire cover? That might be a bit more durable than regular old yarn! AND you can get crazy colours in there. Or maybe twine?

  3. or use some polyester macrame cording. that holds up extremely well to the elements and it isn’t too harsh on the hands.
i will give you some in white if you want to do a test crochet….
