Adorably unwelcome

We interrupt all this re-hashing of past months to bring some breaking news:  a flying squirrel got into my house tonight.  I do not know how, but Otto (cat) chased it into the boys’ room and looked to be doing a good job of hunting it right down, so Brad and I kicked Otto out and did a fair job of terrorizing it ourselves.  It has now been re-released into the wilds of the front yard, just like in Wild America.

Up close they are very cute.  Huge eyes, big flaps of arm skin.  Itty bitty.  I am so glad I got to see it so close, although it was scared out of its tiny brains.

The cats are angry, however, at the way things ended.

About sayingthings

K lives in the US with her man and kiddos, knits, cans, dehydrates, bakes bread, (but doesn't cook regular food, particularly), crochets, spins, gardens, studies for a degree that never seems to end, and um, works. Sometimes she wastes time online. Also -- and family, she's looking at you here -- sometimes she swears and says things you might not agree with. But she still loves you.

  1. I’ve had nightmares about tiny flying squirrels with rabies.

  2. What a heart-thumping experience!! Your families adrenaline must have been running the rest of the evening.
